For Brides (Actually, anyone & everyone!): Where should I print my pictures?

Hi there everyone! This post is part of a series for brides (and grooms too) or maybe for those helping someone plan a wedding. This series is here to help you make educated decisions about upcoming wedding day so that you will be able to focus on the important memories you are making. It seems like such a simple question right? These days EVERYWHERE offers photo printing- I mean everywhere! Most people think that photos are printed equally… well, they aren’t. They REALLY aren’t. You would be so surprised how different pictures can look from different printers.

As we step into Autumn (yay for cooler weather!), the family and wedding picture season I wanted to share a few tips for printing all of those gorgeous pictures you will be having done in the next few months! So, let’s dive right in!

  1. Professional Printing- I know what you are thinking; yeah, yeah more money out the door! Honestly, I am a very thrifty person and I will take the cheaper option if the quality is the same EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. The problem is that there is such a visible difference between professional and cheaper prints from the corner grocer. Don’t take my word on it- check out another photographer’s post that shows you the visible color differences.  The color difference is the most noticeable. The quality of the paper or canvas, inks and coatings used are also factors to keep in mind when trying to save a few bucks.
  2. If professional printing is just not a feasible option for your wallet at the moment, but you would still like to showcase your photos in your home check out http://www.mpix.com. Although they still are not as high of quality as printing with the professional printing company, they do a pretty decent job.

So, when printing your pictures from your wedding or even your family session- remember not all printers are created equal.
